Travel Health Information

Going Travelling?

Whether travelling for business, adventure or relaxation, a good trip always involves careful planning.

It is important to protect your health while abroad, especially if spending time in areas that pose risk of certain diseases.  We would recommend that you start planning your travel health at least 3 months in advance.

Our practice nurses are fully trained to provide advice regarding immunisations for travelling abroad and general advice about keeping yourself healthy whilst travelling.

How do I know what vaccinations I need?

To help us review your health needs while travelling, please visit Travel Health Pro Website  NaTHNaC – Home (travelhealthpro.org.uk) to find out what vaccinations are recommended.

Call the practice to speak to our Patient Services team who will send you a link to book you in for a Pre travel telephone consultation with our Practice Nurse. You will also be sent our Pre Travel Questionnaire which needs to be submitted to us prior to your telephone consultation.

If you require vaccinations which we can offer free on the NHS our Nurse will send you a link to book in here at the practice. If there are any non NHS funded (chargeable) vaccinations recommended our Practice Nurse Team will signpost you to Travel Specialists.

We can offer the free NHS vaccinations of Typhoid, Hepatitis A, DTP (Diphtheria/Tetanus/Polio)

Please ensure you allow at least 6 weeks before you travel to consider your vaccination schedule. Vaccines administered at the practice need to be ordered in.
