  TEXT  MESSAGE REMINDERS!

We are currently using a service called MJOG which will automatically send out a text message the day or two before your booked appointment, to remind you of the the time and date of your appointment

We may also use this service to send out other personal messages,  for instance, if the doctor wishes you to make an appointment to discuss results of recent blood tests.

In order for this service to work, we need to have your mobile telephone number in your electronic medical record.    If you think we do not already have this information, please do let us know your number.

If you do not wish to receive text messages on your mobile phone, you can ask to be excluded from this service.    Please let us know if this is the case

Repeat Prescription Requests

We have noticed that some drugs are being requested too frequently or too early. This can result in drugs being prescribed that are not used. I am sure you can appreciate that this is a waste of valuable NHS resources and the money could be spent on other much needed services.

Please do not submit your requests any earlier than 10 working days before you require your medication and no later that 2 working days before it needs to be with the chemist or picked up at the surgery.

If you request a drug too early we will not be able to issue a prescription for it and we will either try to contact you, or, if some items can be prescribed, we will attach a note about the ones that cannot be done.

If you require your prescription early due to a holiday for example, please put a note explaining why you need your prescription early with the request.

Your assistance would be much appreciated!

We need to know the name, strength, dose and quantity of the drug or drugs you require. If you are on regular medication, the computer will print this and you will have a computer request slip provided. Using the computer request slip will speed up your request. Please use it whenever possible. We can arrange for your medication to be available for you to collect from the pharmacy of your choice. Please write the chemist of your choice on the request slip.
