We are currently using a service called MJOG which will automatically send out a text message the day or two before your booked appointment, to remind you of the the time and date of your appointment

We may also use this service to send out other personal messages,  for instance, if the doctor wishes you to make an appointment to discuss results of recent blood tests.

In order for this service to work, we need to have your mobile telephone number in your electronic medical record.    If you think we do not already have this information, please do let us know your number.

If you do not wish to receive text messages on your mobile phone, you can ask to be excluded from this service.    Please let us know if this is the case

New Appointments System Commencing

Monday 21st November 2011

We will be changing our appointments system on the above date. This will enable better continuity of care for our patients and ensure the appropriate advice or appointment is given.

How this new system will work

·  You will now be able to book appointments up to four weeks in advance with a GP, practice nurse or Health Care Assistant. These appointments can be made in advance online, by telephone or in person.

·  Please note there will be no appointments bookable on the day, for either a GP or nurse Practitioner.

·  ALL CALLS from patients phoning on the day will be triaged. Your details will be taken by the receptionist and either a GP or nurse Practitioner will ring you back, where the appropriate advice will be given or if necessary, an appointment made. Unfortunately we cannot see walk in patients, these will also have to be triaged. This appointment system will be running every day from 8:30am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday. Therefore there is no longer a specific need to ring first thing in the morning.

If you are not sure if it is best to see the doctor or the practice nurse or the nurse Practitioner please ask the receptionist and be prepare to say a little about your problem.

You can help is by:

Being on time for your appointment

Letting us know if you need to cancel

Calling for a home visit before 10am

Ringing for results after 2.30pm

Chaperone

Please tell us if you would like someone to accompany you during an examination. It is much easier for us to arrange a chaperone if we are aware of the need at the time of booking the appointment. You will be chaperoned by either a nurse or by a specially trained member of the reception Team. All consultations are strictly confidential.
